1:1 Sessions

Our 1:1 sessions provide a personalised approach to your fitness journey, enabling you to focus on specific goals and receive dedicated support. Whether you're looking to refine your technique, focus on a specific goal, or enhance your overall fitness, these sessions provide the flexibility and attention you need.

1:1 sessions are a fantastic starting point for beginners, allowing you to grasp the fundamentals and foundations necessary for building a solid Pilates practice. With personalised attention, you can focus on your movement in more detail than in a group class, ensuring you understand the techniques and principles behind each exercise.

Clients engaging in 1:1 sessions often see results faster, as the tailored approach allows for focussing on your specific needs, and helping you improve in the areas which will have the greatest impact on you and your lifestyle. This focused environment not only helps you develop proper form but also instils confidence in your abilities.  Regular 1:1s are great when paired with regular group classes as well, as it gives you the confidence to put into practice what you’ve learned at 1:1 sessions.

2:1 Sessions

A 2:1 session allows you to enjoy many of the benefits of a 1:1, with the added bonus of sharing the experience with a friend or partner. These sessions are a cost-effective way to receive tailored support, offering more individual attention than a group class while keeping the atmosphere fun and motivating.

Working out together can make your Pilates journey more enjoyable, while still focusing on refining technique and achieving your specific goals. 2:1 sessions strike the perfect balance between personalised training and affordability, making them a great option for those looking to deepen their practice with a social touch.

"I really look forward to my weekly 1:1s with Laura - these regular Pilates sessions have been an amazing experience for me. They help me focus on my own personal goals (strong arms!), help me build confidence and a better mind-body connection, and give me the chance to switch off from day-to-day life and stress. I love the combination of precision and perfecting the moves (as best as I can!). The sessions are always supportive, challenging (which I love!) and make me laugh so much!"

What to expect from my first 1:1 session?

At your first 1:1 session, your teacher will spend time going through your Client Enrolment Form, to make sure that we understand your body and ensure we’re helping to get you moving in a safe way, that will help you get the most out of your sessions.  We’ll also talk to you about your short- and long-term goals, so that we can help you achieve them.  We’ll then begin to move and do what we call a movement assessment to get a baseline and get a better understanding of how your body moves.  As you work through the exercises, we’ll begin to teach you about the fundamentals and principles of Pilates.  As with a group class, we’ll aim to mobilise all joints in the body in all ranges of movement.

As a beginner, is it better to do 1:1s or group classes?

When you first start out, its good to do a few 1:1s so that you can get the hang of the movements, understand the principles of Pilates and help your teacher understand your body, and movement patterns so that they can ensure you get the most of each exercise.  That being said, we recognise that this isn’t affordable for everyone.  You are very welcome to join a group class as a beginner, and your teacher will work with you over time to help you get to grips with the fundamentals of Pilates.  It might just take a little longer to help you learn the basics and understand correct alignment in your body.  But your teacher will be on hand to help you get the most out of each class.

What should I wear?

Most importantly, wear clothes that you are comfortable in and that you can move freely in.  We don’t wear shoes for Pilates, and socks are usually more comfortable than bare feet.  If you are able to, wear clothes that fit closely to your body as it will help your teacher to see your spine and how your body is moving more easily, and therefore it will be easier to offer corrections.  But most importantly - we want you to be comfortable and move freely.
